Comic #5 — Useless Courses

Cherry-picking individual topics and saying, “See, I never had to use that!” as an argument to invalidate standard mathematics education is a tactic of the anti-math crowd. Someone, at some point, had to have an understanding of polynomials, derivatives, curve fitting, among other things.

The “first sentence” on the page you link to is: “Sorry, we recently made changes to our web sites and the page you are looking for may have been removed, had its page address changed, may not exist, or is temporarily unavailable.” Is that intentional?

Thanks, Josh! I’m pushing for a weekly comic. Eventually the artwork will catch up with the jokes! And the jokes will catch up with being funny! 🙂
