Without any context, this is a useless formula. However, if the question were “how do we compute the area of a triangle” then the formula can make sense. Sometimes, what’s overlooked is that getting the height is a bit of a pain. What are other ways of obtaining the area of a triangle?

These cryptarithms are a really nice collection of puzzles. I’m not sure whether I’ll use them as warm-ups or devote a full class to some of them. Maybe do a whole class once, then can drop them in as warm-ups and everyone will know the game.
