Comic #12 — Happy Programmer’s New Year!

Ok, obligatory goals for 2015.

The goals below are my personal ones as opposed to my goals for my consulting and software development business.

In no particular order here are my three major personal goals for this year.

  • I want to continue with a weekly comic (Fridays) and weekly blog post (Sundays or Mondays).
    • I started to teach myself how to draw beginning in December 2013. As you can see from previous comics, the artwork is coming along, but it still lacks style. It feels stiff. Any advice is welcome.
    • I am working on character design, their poses, some semblance of a personality, etc.
    • I am working on the humor and theme. Clearly, it will be math / programming / education focused.
  • I want to continue to improve at piano. I have been taking weekly lessons since March 2013. I’ve made improvements, but my sight reading is still slow. So that will be a serious focus this year.
  • I want to beef up my number theory knowledge. My research focus dabbles into number theory, but has been overwhelmingly computational and focuses on simulation methods (Monte Carlo, quasi-Monte Carlo, and randomized quasi-Monte Carlo).

And here’s the comic! 🙂
