Alphanumeric Puzzle 5 — Pi R Squared

Are you teaching a geometry course, or do you like puzzles, or both? In either case, today’s puzzle is all multiplication, has only one solution, and is a correct math formula! This is doable by hand, even though the only common letter is the R and the result of the multiplication is bookended by As!

    PI = 96
    R = 7
    AREA = 4704

    I used Microsoft Excel to multiply all of the numbers from 10-99 by squares numbers from 16-81.
    Then, I started looking for patterns in the grid I had created. Very interesting patterns emerged!
